IFC Film Club
IFC Club, which meets on the fourth Monday of each month, is celebrating its third anniversary of engaging conversation. All are welcome to attend and explore the modern classic selected.
The film chosen for the next session on Monday, February 27, 2017 is Dazed and Confused (1993), Richard Linklater’s look back on the last day of school for a bunch of high school students in June 1976, set in his native Austin, Texas, but evoking the period anywhere in suburban America.

On Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9 . m. to 1 p. m. the Borough of Oradell is hosting once again a Borough shredding party in the yard of the Oradell Department of Public Works (DPW) at 2 Marginal Road, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Oradell Environmental Committee.

In addition to the two Book Clubs (Evening Book Club and Morning Book Club), Oradell Public Library offers a Cookbook Club.
The cookbook to be used on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7 p.m. is Mario Batali’s Molto Italiano: 327 Simple Italian Recipes to Cook at Home (2005).
Frank R. Vierling (1923 - 2017)
Oradell lost one of its finest native residents, Frank R. Vierling, who was recently recognized as the Borough Historian Emeritus. His obituary only hints at all his accomplishments throughout a rich life, most of it spent in Oradell.
In addition there is an exhibition devoted to Frank R. Vierling in the display cases.

Soon the Friends of the Library will be sending out invitations by mail to join the Friends by making a donation to them. Please consider joining the Friends through financial support.

Check out two or more adult books and choose one Advance Reader Copy of soon-to-be-released adult books to keep. Each book is wrapped with a tag giving a clue as to what type of book it is.

What a great evening we had on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 7 p. m., as the Friends of the Library hosted an appearance by New Jersey's own Uncle Floyd. He was magnificent in person!
New Early Literacy Computers
Our Early Literacy Stations have received a generous upgrade thanks to the Oradell Public LIbrary Foundation. The new computers are touch-screen for additional tactile learning, geared to children ages 2 - 8, and feature over 70 activities that make learning fun. Come visit and play!
Library Receives Literary Grant
The Oradell Free Public Library is pleased to announce a significant increase in their graphic novel and comics collection for children and teens. This increase is due to grant funding from the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area for Comics to the Rescue: Promoting Literacy through Graphic Novels and Comics.

The Oradell Public Library Cookbook Club Cookbook, Recipes to Remember: Oradell Library Cooks is now available to purchase.
The New Jersey State Library has added Rosetta Stone Library Solutions Plus to its suite of statewide database/e-resources offerings for public libraries for FREE.

Adult Coloring Club
