NJ Makers Day 2017 - Call for Volunteers
On Saturday, March 25th, 2017 makers from across New
Jersey will be participating in the 3rd annual NJ Makers
Day to celebrate and share maker culture. The Oradell Free
Public Library is proud to, once again, be one of the
Creative minds of all ages are invited to join us for a special
daylong event devoted to hands-on learning. All activities
are free of charge and the event is open to the public.
Currently, we are in the process of recruiting volunteers to
assist with the day. Opportunities include sharing a skill or
talent, crafts, technology, food, etc. Can you demonstrate
Rasberry Pi? Teach macramé? These are just a few of the
possibilities. This is a community-wide event that aims to
bring everyone together by sharing skills and talents.

Supplies will be on hand for beginners. Experienced knitters are encouraged to bring whatever they are working on

Experienced knitters are welcome to stay as long as they would like.
SNAP Circuits: Kid-Friendly DIY Electronics

Funding for Make YOUR Space @ Oradell Free Public Library was provided through the proceeds from the Oradell Free Public Library's "School of Fish" Fundraising Event in October 2014. This special event raised $20,000 for Junior Room technology and special resource acquisitions. The Junior Room received additional grants to fund Make YOUR Space resources and programming from the Oradell Free Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Oradell Public Library.

Sewing Mini Pillows
Learn how sewing machines work, one of the original Makerspace pieces of equipment, and help make mini pillow cases.
Make a Tool Box with the pros from Home Depot
Learn how the RDHS Invention Club students are developing a complete e-learning and management system for a school in Ghana, Africa with used laptop computers donated by a local company.
Create a Mini Water Cycle
Understand how the water cycle works with a hands-on project.
Led by the experts from United Water.
Learn how to take apart and repair antique radios from collector and expert, Bill Dunphy.
Microsoft Kinect Project
Learn how the RDHS Invention Club student developed interactive computer program utilizing Microsoft Kinect system to aid learning in mathematics.
Learn Mango Languages and Zinio with Information Services Librarian, Linda Pabian. Two very exciting, new digital acquisitions that allow you to learn languages and read magazines digitial, respectively. Bring your gadgets and learn how you can take these programs with you!
