DISPLAY CASES
Large Display Case
The large display case features some of the books authored by former Oradell resident Percy Keese Fitzhugh drawn from the Library's Local History Collection. From 1917 to 1935, Percy Keese Fitzhugh was one of the most popular children's authors in the United States. He authored nearly 100 books for children and young adults.
Most of his work had a boy scouting theme. His "Pee-Wee Harris" character is still being featured in a comic strip in Boys' Life, the official magazine of the Boy Scouts of America.

Local History Collection Exhibition
The exhibition from the Local History Collection on the lower level stairwell display case is a selection of books and historical pamphlets, which mark the 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversaries of the founding of the Borough of Oradell in 1894. Although there is not a commemorative book for the 125th anniversary this year (2019), we celebrate the Borough’s history with these older publications. Copies of the earlier commemorative books are all in the Local History Collection and are available for circulation in the catalog. The books commemorating the 75th and 100th anniversaries of the Borough are also available for sale from the Friends of the Library.

Getaways on Display
A new display stand has been provided by Getaways on Display. Patrons can now browse through and take brochures and catalogs on travel destinations. Many of the brochures are for destinations that are within a driving distance of Oradell. The display will be updated every six weeks. The stand is located on the first floor, by the public copier and bulletin board.
